Associate (Since 2019)
Una Starr, PsyD, LPC I was born and raised in Fannin County Texas. My first calling in life I remember was to be a servant of Christ, which also made me a servant to others. After high school, I served in the US Army as a soldier for eight years. Having earned an honorable discharge, Associates Degree in Computer Science and my GI Bill, I decided to more specifically pursue my original calling which was serving those who are in need. This took me into the field of counseling and psychology. While still abroad, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education, Master of Arts in Counseling with Wayland Baptist University and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with Hawaii School of Professional Psychology. I am now back home in Texas with my family and practicing as a Psychologist as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am a graduate level professor in counseling and psychology. I have been married to Scott Starr for 24 years and we are raising two wonderful children. For the last ten years, I have been a therapist working within the military and civilian sectors with individuals, groups, and couples in multiple settings, e.g. (Family Practice, Community Mental Health, Department of Corrections, and the Hawaii Court System). It is an honor to now serve as a mental health provider with Texoma Counseling Associates in Denison, Texas |
